What a cookie is

A cookie is a small file a site asks the browser to keep, and that the browser sends back to the site on every later visit. It serves to remember something between one page and the next, and in its most invasive forms to recognise the same person across different sites.

What this site does not use

No profiling cookies. No analytics tool, meaning no Google Analytics and no equivalent service. No advertising pixel. No font, map or video player loaded from a third party domain that could in turn write an identifier.

That is why the site does not ask you for consent: with no measurement tools and no third parties there is nothing consent could be given for.

What stays in your browser

A single entry, written in the local storage of the browser and not in a cookie. It never travels over the network, it is never sent to the server and it cannot be read by other sites.

• kpos.sito.avvisoLetto, keeps the fact that you dismissed the cookie notice, so that it does not reappear on every page. It stays until you clear the site data from your browser.

The console reserved to operators

The sign in area at k-pos.app/login and the pages that follow belong to the admin console, which is a working tool and not a part of the public site. There too no profiling cookies are used: the session and the chosen language stay in the local storage of the browser.

How to clear what is left

Every browser allows clearing the data of a single site from its own settings, under the entry covering privacy, site data or stored content. Once cleared, the cookie notice appears again on the next visit.

Browsing in a private window has the same effect: when the window is closed nothing remains.

Changes

Should the site introduce a measurement tool in the future, this notice would be updated before that tool is switched on, and a consent request would appear before the tool is loaded.
